BTB Chili

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 lbs super lean ground beef
  • 1 package Jimmy Dean’s breakfast sausage – HOT
  • ½ stick pepperoni – cubed
  • 1 small onion - chopped
  • 2 packages McCormack’s chili seasoning – regular
  • 1 package McCormack’s chili seasoning – hot
  • 3 cans tomato sauce
  • 2 cans red kidney beans - optional
  • 4 tbsp hot pepper sauce
  • 2 tsp garlic
  • 2 tbsp crushed red pepper
  • 2 tsp ground black pepper

DIRECTIONS 1. Prepare ground beef and set aside a. Crumble b. Fry c. Drain 2. Blanch onion and set aside 3. Prepare hot sausage in a large pot a. Crumble b. Fry c. DO NOT DRAIN 4. Add ground beef and onion 5. Add pepperoni 6. Add tomato sauce 7. Bring ingredients to a boil, stirring frequently 8. Add McCormack’s mixture 9. Add remaining ingredients 10. Chile is ready to eat, but for best results, simmer for 2 to 4 hours, stir occasionally 11. Add kidney beans if desired


WARNING!!!!

The pepperoni will leach salt into the chili as it simmers. DO NOT ADD SALT. The chili can be salted to taste when served. Raise the heat with hot chili peppers – pablano, jalapeno, etc.
